Espen Holst Hansen

Espen is a co-founder and scientist at KinSea, focusing on the identification of novel compounds and in vitro assays. In addition, Espen is a professor in marine biotechnology at UiT The Arctic University of Norway (UiT).  

He holds a PhD in biochemistry from UiT, and has been working with bioactive natural products for almost 30 years. He is an expert in isolation and characterization of secondary metabolites from plants, invertebrates and microorganisms using combinations of chromatography and mass spectrometry.

He has been responsible for the chemistry unit of the natural products drug discovery platform Marbio since its establishment in 2004.
